Irish and Terps to meet in 2016 Shootout

Maryland and Notre Dame return to Southern California on March 5
The Maryland Terrapins and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, two of the 2015 NCAA Division I Final Four teams, will meet in Orange County on Saturday, March 5 in the third annual Pacific Coast Shootout.

"We are extremely excited to announce the return of Maryland and Notre Dame to the Shootout," said Executive Director G.W. Mix. "These are two of the top programs in the country and the fact they both wanted to return to Southern California so quickly is a testament to the value they both see in competing and promoting their programs on the West Coast."

The Terps finished 15-4 in 2015, including a 10-8 win over the Tar Heels of North Carolina in the Shootout. Notre Dame ended the 2015 season with a 12-3 record, having lost its final game 11-10 in overtime in the NCAA Division I Semi-Finals to eventual champion Denver.

The last time these two teams met was in the 2014 NCAA Final Four. The Irish beat Maryland 11-6 on their way to an appearance in the national championship game against Duke.

Tickets to the 2016 Shootout will go on sale soon.
