Tar Heels ranked 6th. Open with Furman.

The University of North Carolina men's lacrosse team is ranked sixth in the nation in the preseason poll released Monday by the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. The poll is voted on by NCAA Division I coaches.

The Tar Heels play all of the top 5-ranked teams in the preseason poll as well as No. 8 Maryland and No. 9 Virginia. No. 11 Harvard and No. 19 Bryant are also on the schedule for Coach Joe Breschi's team.

Carolina opens its 2015 season this coming Saturday against Furman at 12 noon at Fetzer Field.
